10.9.18

It was my first day of work with the London Scottish. I was a bit nervous about how dressy I should be and about getting there on time. But with all of the apps I have and how easy it is to get around, I had no problem. I wish we had public transit like this back home. It is better over here compared to the States.

I found Scott as soon as I got there and he showed me around again. The pitch isn't big, and I am excited to get to work finally. I feel that many of my tasks here will be similar to my job with the Dragons. He had me today work on creating the tickets for all of the matches and the vouchers for the teams and refs. I even met Scott's boss today. He seems pleasant and actually lived in Ohio for a short time. He, unlike many people I know, quite enjoyed living in Ohio.

I am having a hard time understanding people. I feel like they are speaking a different language somethings. Their accents are just so thick. Scott has a thick one. I caught most of what he was saying, but there were bits I missed altogether.

After work, I walked back to campus. It was supposed to take an hour but it didn't feel like it did. I made a stop at a place called the Rising Sun. The chicken I had there was excellent and I got a lot more then what I was expecting. I grabbed a business card so I can take Aidan back there.

Speaking of which, he flies out tomorrow!! I can't wait for him to be here finally! I want to see if I can't be at the airport when he arrives. That is how excited I am for him to show up.

I had a long chat with Handley today. This is the first time I think we have ever really talked. He is a great a conversation despite how quiet he is. He brought up how there is a large group of us. I agreed with him when he said it was nice to have a group to fall back on who will understand what you are going through. We all will be going similar stuff at some point in time while we are over here and it is nice to know that the people from AQ are here for me like I am for them.

It has been a long few days, so I am not going out tonight. A lot of people are, I can hear them from my window, but I want to stay in and watch Netflix. I feel bad about missing out on basically welcome weekend and the chance to meet everyone, but I also know I need to take it slow. We have been going nonstop for the last week, and I need a chance to breathe and drink some water. Plus I am waiting for Aidan. I know he is going to want to join the party.

This is part of Richmond where I am working with the London Scottish.
